She is also a Certified Scent Work judge for the American Kennel Club (AKC) and United States Canine Scent Sports (USCSS). Diana has been working with and training dogs since 1998.
In 2009, Diana moved to San Antonio, Texas to open In Harmony with Dogs, offering private training, behavior consultation, as well as classes in puppy socialization, dog obedience, behavior modification and K9 Nose Work. She developed a K9 Nose Work® program at the Animal Defense League that successfully facilitated the adoption of many dogs.
Diana’s passion lies in enhancing the lives of families and their companion dogs through a deeper understanding of dogs, modern training and dog sports.
Diana and her dogs have been actively involved in dog sports for many years. While her first dog Dani, a German Shepherd Dog, introduced her to the sport of dog agility, her Border Collie Kona took them to the next level. Diana and Kona consistently ranked at the top of the sport of dog agility and are eight-time finalists at the Cynosport World Championships, boasting five top ten finals placements. Kenya, her younger Border Collie is a talented hunter, currently competing in the Elite class in K9 Nose Work®. Diana's energetic young Belgian Malinois is also excelling in the growing sport of K9 Nose Work®.
New in their portfolio in 2019 is wildlife detection and conservation. Both dogs are successfully locating turtle nests on the Texas coast in support of efforts to save these critically endangered animals.
Diana truly enjoys the challenges of training at all levels and the enhanced understanding and teamwork that it facilitates.
